The HSE is encouraging the public to be aware of their healthcare options on this bank holiday weekend.
Health staff across hospital and community services in Galway and Roscommon will continue to work together to ensure patient flow and access to services throughout the long weekend. They are asking people to consider all healthcare options before attending a hospital Emergency Department including Out of Hours GP service and pharmacies. The Roscommon injury unit will remain open on Bank Holiday Monday however the Mullingar minor injuries unit will be closed.
Catriona Mc Donald who is the General Manager at Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore said that whilst some patients may experience long wait times in emergency departments, urgent patients will always be prioritised for treatment and care.
