A Longford GP has reported his surgery has received a significant oversupply of Covid-19 vaccines.
Dr Syed Ali told Shannonside Northern Sound News that he received more than 1000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine out of an expected order of two to three hundred.
According to the Doctor, vaccine storage means the doses will be ineffective by next week and they must be used immediately.
He's liaised with other Longford GPs to call in stand by lists and patients across the town to see the doses used.
Following reports of large crowds at Dr Ali's practice, local doctors are urging people not to attend surgeries for a vaccine unless they have received an appointment.
