The HSE has issued advice for people in the north Roscommon area and wider Elphin region after a rise in the number of Covid cases reported in recent days.
They have confirmed that a public health risk assessment and close contacts are being contacted.
Dr. Emer O’Connell, Department of Public Health Medicine urges continued vigilance with regard to basic public health advice including maintaining social distance as well as washing hands with soap frequently.
They are also asking people to wear a mask/face-covering in shops, public transport and other indoor venues.
They are also reminding the public that everyone needs to reduce their social contacts now.

The Department of Public Health is aware of cases of Covid 19 infection in the north Roscommon area, including the wider Elphin area.
A public health risk assessment has been undertaken and close contacts of these confirmed cases are being contacted and advised accordingly.
General Advice:
If a person develops symptoms (such as a cough, a fever, shortness of breath or breathing difficulties, loss or change in sense of taste or smell) - they should be isolated immediately and should phone your GP for further advice, and any siblings and any other individuals sharing your accommodation should restrict their movements, as per current public health advice.

(i) visiting someone who is over 70 years of age or who is otherwise medically vulnerable
(ii) being visited by someone who is over 70 years of age or who is otherwise medically vulnerable
(iii) sharing a car or other vehicle with someone you don't live with
· Cover your cough and sneeze the right way
· Everyone needs to reduce their social contacts now
· If you experience symptoms, Don’t go to school or work , self-isolate and call your GP
