The HSE has issued an appeal to people who were socialising in Athlone earlier this month to get an urgent Covid test.
Health officials are concerned that cases of the Delta variant, not yet confirmed, may have been reported in the town.
They are urging people who were socialising on the west side of the river on Friday June 11th to seek urgent testing.
The HSE has also expressed its concern over reports of house parties in the town.
They are asking anyone who may feel unwell to self isolate, do not go to work, contact their GP and get a Covid test.
⚠️ Anyone socialising in Athlone on the evening of Friday June 11 is asked to attend a free COVID test if they think they may have been exposed.
