The raising of the pride flag at Leitrim County Hall is a sign that the county is accepting of the LGBTQI+ community.
That's according to Events Coordinator of Leitrim Pride Isolde Carmody as the festival continues across the county this week.
The flag was raised outside of the local authority offices in Carrick on Shannon over the weekend.

Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Isolde says that the LGBTQI+ community in the North West is still reeling from the murder of two Gay men in Sligo a number of months ago.
The events coordinator says the symbolism of having the pride flag flying at county hall means a great deal to the community:
"It symbolises Leitrim is accepting and loving of all the shades of the rainbow in our communities. It is within our Leitrim community, it is not something seperate, it is part of everyone's lives.
And the flag shows that Leitrim will not give in to bigotry, to hatred, to homophobia, to transphobia. The people of Leitrim are joyful and accepting and that is something to see. I can't tell you what it means."
