Hundreds of people are expected in Longford Town today ahead of the Abbott's Longford Marathon. The Marathon has sold out all 1,200 tickets for the first time since they started in 2003. Road diversions will also be in place around the town today. Delays can be expected as two roads will be closed in line with the marathon.
Main Street Longford will be closed from 7am until 6pm with traffic being diverted around the N4 and N5 Longford Bypass. There will also be in town diversions to aid local traffic. The N63 between Ballymacormack crossroads to Townspark (Longford Supervalu) will be closed between 9-10.30am.
