His funeral Mass is taking place in St Bride's Church, Ballintubber, at 12 noon tomorrow.

Hundreds of people have been paying their respects to west Roscommon councillor Anthony Waldron this evening.

His remains are reposing at the Old School House, Ballintubber, until 7pm.

There have been large queues outside the venue since it opened at 4pm today.

His funeral Mass is taking place in St Bride's Church, Ballintubber, at 12 noon tomorrow.

The 64-year-old died suddenly last Sunday at his home in Ballintubber.

He was a Fianna Fáil councillor between 2004 and 2009, and was an Independent councillor from 2019 until his death last weekend.
