Hundreds of people are paying their respects to south Roscommon councillor John Naughten this evening.
His remains are reposing in Drum Parish Hall until 8pm, ahead of his funeral Mass in St Brigid's Church, Drum, at 11am tomorrow.
The 50-year-old died last Friday in a personal tragedy - just two weeks after he was chosen to run for Fine Gael in the general election in Roscommon-Galway.
Party colleague Councillor Liam Callaghan, who represents the Boyle Local Electoral Area, has been paying tribute.
