The Government has been urged to engage with unions representing the care and community sector, or face further industrial action in September.
The call from SIPTU comes as 400 of it's members - who work as personal assistants for the Irish Wheelchair Association - go on strike today.
They're demanding their first pay rise for 14 years, warning that their pay rates are so poor staff are looking for work elsewhere.
