The IFA are calling on farmers across the Shannonside region to attend a virtual meeting this evening to air concerns over a major Bord na Mona bog rejuvenation project.
The Bord Na Mona peatlands rehabilitation project will see work to restore 80 bogs encompassing 33,000 hectares of land across 8 counties.
The Irish Farmers Association are urging all farmers in the region to log onto tonight's meeting to voice their concerns over the project.
Many have already raised worries over drainage issues on their land following any re-wetting of adjacent or nearby bogs.
The meeting with be chaired by IFA Deputy President Brian Rushe and will be addressed by IFA Rural Development Chairman, Michael Biggins and IFA Environment Chairman Paul O'Brien.
The meeting will take place this evening from 8 o'clock on Microsoft Teams and attendees can register on the IFA website.
Deputy President of the organisation, Brian Rushe, says the IFA will work closely with Bord na Mona to ensure farms will not be affected.
