Bord na Mona needs to continually engage with farmers with land close to bogs earmarked for rewetting, according to the IFA.
Representatives attended the Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture this week, and Bord na Mona also attended to discuss its peatlands restoration programme.
While the semi state company gave assurances that it would conduct the programme as responsible landowners, farmers say they need to be involved at a local level.
Deputy President of IFA Brian Rushe says while the presentations from Bord na Mona are all very nice, it will be how engagement actually works on the ground that will be important.
