The number of Ukrainians arriving to the Shannonside region is continuing to increase.
A further 600 people have arrived since the previous CSO report in June.
In total across the Shannonside region, 1,654 Ukrainians have arrived in Roscommon, Longford, and Leitrim up to the end of September, compared to 1,072 at the the end of June. The numbers have been calculated based on the amount of PPS numbers issued under the Temporary Protection Directive.According to the latest report from the CSO, Leitrim has taken in over 750 Ukrainian refugees up to the end of September of this year, an increase of 255 from June. 581 Ukrainians are now living in the Ballinamore M.D and 179 in the Manorhamilton M.D compared to 393 and 112 when the last report was published.
Roscommon has welcomed a further 132 people to the county, with 288 Ukrainians now living in the Boyle MD and 212 in the Roscommon L.E.A. Just 15 have arrived in the Athlone area, but over 500 have arrived in the Athlone-Moate area in Westmeath.
In Longford, 379 arrivals have been reported, an increase of 165 from June of this year. The Granard M.D has experienced an increase from 30 people in June to 97 at the end of September. Ballymahon M.D has experienced a similar increase, from 46 to 125. 157 now reside in Longford Town's M.D, up from 138 in June. Nationally, 54,771 have arrived in Ireland since the beginning of the conflict.
