He has been elected after the third count for the Athlone local electoral area.

An Independent candidate has been elected to Roscommon County Council.

The quota for the Athlone LEA is 1,403. Indeed, Laurence Fallon exceeded the quota, winning his seat with a total of 1,497 on the second count after receiving 1,370 first preference votes.

The Independent politician is locally known for his efforts to achieve measures to lower water levels at Lough Funshinagh. Indeed, Fallon has been elected after the third count for the Athlone local electoral area.

Whereas, John Naughten (FG) and Tony Ward (Ind) were elected on the first count.
