The country's only competitive standard indoor roller rink, based in Longford, is set to be shut down in just under two weeks.
The Longford indoor Roller Rink in the Mastertech Business Park on the Athlone Road has operated as Ireland's primary centre for inline hockey over the last 7 years.
Set up in 2014, the rink is home to 3 regional teams across multiple age groups. Over the years, the rink was rented by Inline Hockey Ireland to host all league games in the sport. The club is now being forced to dismantle the facility following notice from the property owner this week.
