A verdict of accidental death was returned at the inquest of a family of three who died following a serious road crash near Ballinasloe last year.
The coroner's court, sitting in Gort, heard details of the head on collision which occurred on the westbound lane of the M6 motorway in August of last year.
36-year-old Karzan Ahmed (36), his wife, Shahen Faris and their eight-month-old daughter, Lina all died after their car was in collision with a vehicle driven by Jonasz Adam Lach on the wrong side of the dual carriageway.
The inquest heard the family was travelling back to Galway after viewing a house in Carlow ahead of a planned move to the south-east.
The 43-year-old Polish national had traces of cannabis in his blood following following the crash, and had recently received mental health treatment Roscommon university hospital in the weeks prior to the crash.
An open verdict was returned at the inquest into his death, with sympathies expressed to the families of both families.
