The well being of residents at a Longford Care Home has been praised following the release of a recent HIQA inspection report.
Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home on the Dublin Road in Edgeworthstown, County Longford was subject to an unannounced inspection in April of this year.
While several substantial compliance and one non-compliance were recorded during the examination, Inspectors found that residents were supported to have a good quality of life in the centre.
Staff at the Longford facility were noted for their friendly interaction with residents and their individual knowledge of service users.
Family members and friends visiting the centre spoke highly of the facility and the visiting procedures.
Overall HIQA inspectors found that this was a well-managed centre where residents received a good standard of care.
Several issues identified in a previous inspection had been rectified while outstanding issues with fire safety works were noted as close to completion.
Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home recorded 7 substantial compliance, 6 full compliance's and one non-Compliance.
Substantial compliances included minor issues with infection control such as wear and tear on some surfaces and other notifications with staffing and governance.
The centre's sole non-compliance related to uncompleted fire safety works where the installation of two fire safety doors, self closing devices, a bedroom reconfiguration and a fire policy review were warranted.
In response to the inspection, Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home has confirmed that the fire safety issues have been addressed and resolved.
