Joseph Gilhooly has been appointed as the interim Chief Executive of Leitrim County Council.
The role became vacant following the resignation of Lar Power last month.
At today's meeting of Leitrim County Council, councillors voted to install Mr Gilhooly as the temporary CE of the local authority.
Joseph Gilhooly served previously as the Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Services Economic Development, Planning and Infrastructural Service with Leitrim County Council.
He will hold the role with effect from the 18th of September until a permanent appointment is made.
