A planning application for a temporary solution to the flooding crisis in south Roscommon is on course to be made later this month.
It comes as the water levels of Lough Funshinagh are 1.3 metres higher than this time last year, and there are fears of more homes being flooded this winter.
Last month Taoiseach Simon Harris said an interim solution should go to planning by the end of August - allowing water to be removed from the turlough.
