Investigations continuing into alleged assault at a local sports grounds

Investigations are ongoing into an alleged assault which took place at a sports ground in Athlone recently.

Gardaí say they received a report of an incident of assault that occurred at a sports ground in Athlone, Co. Westmeath at approximately 2:50pm on the 9th of February.

They also say that a man aged in his 40s attended Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore as a precaution.
