Irish Patients Association to highlight local concerns about Mullingar Hospital with HSE chief

They expressed disappointment at long waiting times at the department, ranging from 7 to 10 hours per patient.

A representative from the Irish Patients Association has confirmed that a letter sent to Shannonside FM from a listener has been forwarded to the Chief Executive of the HSE. The letter was read out on the Joe Finnegan Show earlier this week which described the A&E at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar as 'pathetic' and 'not fit for purpose.'

She expressed her disappointment at the extremely long waiting times at the department, ranging from 7 to 10 hours per patient. Stephen McMahon from the Irish Patients Association commended the patient for writing about her experience and described the letter as powerful. Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, he hopes that the letter can be communicated to the management team in Mullingar:
