An Irish celebrity has appeared in court accused of engaging in a sexual act with a child under the age of 17 on three occasions in 2010 and 2011.
Given the nature of the charges, the man can’t be named.
The man was arrested this morning and appeared before Judge John Brennan a few hours later.
He’s facing three charges of engaging in a sexual act with a child under the age of 17 on dates in 2010 and 2011.
One of the acts is alleged to have taken place in a specific address in Dublin city centre, while the other two are unknown locations – also in Dublin.
The court heard the man made no reply after being cautioned. There was no objection to bail today and he’s due back in court next month.
He has yet to indicate a plea but the DPP has directed trial by indictment, which means he’ll be tried before a judge and jury at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court if he contests the allegations.
