82 people in the Shannonside region officially gained Irish Citizenship this week.
In a special ceremony held in Killarnery over the last two days, Minister for Justice Helen McEntee conferred Irish Citizenship to 4,000 applicants.
The new citizens come from 139 different countries including the UK, the US, Nigeria and Brazil.
Locally, 39 people with an address in Roscommon were conferred, with a further 30 gaining the nationality in Longford.
In Leitrim, 13 new citizens received their new official status.
Citizenship ceremonies were first introduced in 2011 in order to mark the occasion with approximately 161,000 people having received Irish citizenship since then.
