An Irish man has been released from an Iranian prison today.
Bernard Phelan has been behind bars since October after being arrested during protests against the Iranian regime.
He was jailed alongside French national, Benjamin Briére, in Mashhad Central Prison.
Tanaiste Micheál Martin says he's relieved to hear of their release, and says Bernard is on his way home:
'We felt there was always an important on justice that they would be released. They shouldn't have to go through this ordeal but we welcome their release. We know that the families in particular. I want to thank the families for their engagement with us and for their patience and for their endurance also.'
