Men in Ireland with Covid-19 are more severely affected than women, and have a significantly higher risk of death.
New analysis by the Society of Actuaries in Ireland found if a person contracts the virus, they are at least 25 percent more likely to die if they are male.
The difference in death rates for men and women was most noticeable during the third phase of the pandemic, which began last December. Immunologist Professor Luke O'Neill says it's now clear men have worse outcomes if they test positive for Covid.
