Irish Rail are describing driving behaviour at a level crossing in west Roscommon as reckless.
It comes following the second incident in recent weeks in which a truck collided with the gates at Castlerea Train Station.
Gardai attended the scene of a crash shortly before 2pm on Thursday afternoon and no injuries were reported.
However, trains travelling from the west were subsequently delayed by almost an hour.
A spokesperson for Irish Rail is urging all users of level crossings to approach them safely, and to observe warning lights when barriers are descending.
In a statement to Shannonside FM, Iarnród Éireann say there's no excuse for the type of reckless driving which causes such disruption.
They conclude that motorists involved will be pursued for costs and Gardaí will be contacted.
