The Cathaoirleach of Longford County Council has vowed to bring Irish Water before the council over the recently lifted boil water notice.
Councillor Peggy Nolan branded the water restrictions that faced over 17,000 people as 'a disgrace'.
The notice was brought in over one month ago following water quality issues at the Lough Forbes Water Treatment plant.
Normal supply has resumed following the completion of extensive remedial works at the plant over the last month.
Councillor Nolan says the fault falls on Irish Water, and that Longford County Council did everything in its power to rectify the situation.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound, the county Cathaoirleach says Irish Water have questions to answer now that the boil notice is lifted.
