The country's braced for yet another battering from strong winds. As the clear up continues after Storm Isha - Storm Jocelyn is now on its way. ESB crews are still working to restore power to thousands of homes across the Shannonside region this morning following Storm Isha. According to ESB Networks, over 230,000 customers were left without power nationwide following Sunday's storm. Power has been restored to most of those properties but there are still thousands of customers without electricity. The Shannonside region is among the worst hit with thousands of properties still without power.
As of this morning, over 2,000 properties in Mohill are still without power while there are over 1,700 in Carrick. Longford has over 1,200 properties without electricity while power has yet to be restored to 1,500 homes in the Boyle area. The ESB has warned that it may take a number of days to fully restore power at properties in some areas. For the latest estimated restoration times, customers are advised to visit powercheck.ie. This comes as Storm Jocelyn is set to make landfall later this evening. Met Éireann has issued Status Orange wind warnings for Donegal, Galway and Mayo from 6pm this evening. The rest of the country will be subject to a yellow alert.
