The trial is expected to conclude early this week at Sligo Courthouse.

A former school principal has been found not guilty on seven counts of false accounting by the direction of a Roscommon circuit judge.

Judge Francis Comerford told the jury in the trial of Frank Chambers, Carnacregg, Moylough, Co Galway that there was no basis on which they could bring a conviction on seven alleged offnces.

The 58-year-old former principal of Roscommon Community College has pleaded not guilty to charges of theft and false accounting relating to a school canteen between 2011 and 2017.
