Just 3 residential commencement notices were issued between Longford and Leitrim last month. Commencement notices are required to inform a local authority before a new build or material alteration of a property. Just one notice was issued in Longford and two were recorded in Leitrim, some of lowest results in the country with only Fingal County Council in Dublin recording less.

Roscommon saw 14 notices issued in the month of June, compared to 8 the same month in 2023. Leitrim and Longford both saw their levels of commencement notices drop year on year.
