Just over 20 people at being treated for Covid 19 at hospitals in the Shannonside Northern Sound region today according to the latest data from the HSE.
Galway University Hospital is treating seven patients with Covid at present.
Three people are in hospital with the virus in Sligo University Hospital and Our Lady of Lourdes in Drogheda.
Two people each have Covid in Cavan, Mullingar, Tullamore and Portiuncula hospitals respectively.
Cavan and Sligo Hospital recorded one new case as of yesterday morning.
New HSE data is also revealing the test centre at Castle Saunderson has a positivity rate of 18.4 percent.
Louth has the highest swab positivity rate by county at over 12 per cent.
28 per cent of Covid-19 tests taken at a centre in Buncrana Co. Donegal are coming back positive.
In the last 7 days, 126 Covid positive cases have been confirmed in Cavan - with 116 in Roscommon, 92 in Monaghan, 43 in Leitrim and 36 in Longford.
Cavan has recorded the highest swab positivity rate locally at 11.7%.
Monaghan's rate is at 11.1%, Leitrim's is 10.4% and Roscommon is at 8%.
Longford has the third-lowest nationally at 5.5% with Louth's figure of 12.65 the highest in the country.
