Just over three thousand euro has been spent on a Defence Forces training camp in Roscommon so far this year.
The Carnagh camp in Athlone is used primarily as a training base for the Irish Army and according to information supplied to Shannonside Northern Sound, almost one thousand euro was spent on utility charges at the facility between January and September of this year.
Buildings maintenance goods also cost a total of €2383 which included €1600 spent on renovating a cabin and the remaining money spent on materials for the range itself.
There was no cost for training equipment or permanent staff wages and the Defence Forces has also confirmed that a refurbishment contract for the rifle range is currently in planning with work due to start in 2022.
