Local TD Claire Kerrane doesn't believe the Roscommon-Galway constituency would be at a disadvantage if there was no Government representative following the next General Election. The Sinn Féin Deputy was speaking after being selected as the party's candidate to contest the election last night in Roscommon town.
Roscommon-Galway currently has no sitting Government TD with Independent Ireland Deputy Michael Fitzmaurice and Independent Deputy Denis Naughten making up the three seats in the constituency alongside Kerrane. Speaking to Shannonside FM News, Deputy Kerrane said whilst it's an advantage to be in Government, TD's can still deliver from opposition:
