Concerns have been raised around speeding in a Longford village
The Killoe Development group raised the issue of speed in Ennybegs at their most recent meeting
The group are proposing a number of traffic calming measures including the narrowing of the entrance to the village and traffic islands.
Declan Rowley from the Killoe Development Group says it will take a number of these measures to slow traffic down.
"I think the narrowing of the entrance into the village will then represent that you're coming into a built up area dn you need to slow down. We're also looking at things like little islands as a traffic calming measure. It'll take a number of these to get home the idea of calming the speed because we all drive at a certain pace and we've so much in our heads, we're listening to the radio and such, and we're not actually concentrating. There's so many little villages and you end up in a 50kph zone very quickly"
