A special commemorative event will take place at Knockcroghery train station tomorrow to mark the 60th anniversary of its closure.
A number of guest speakers as well as a display of train memorabilia will be on show on the day from 12 noon to 5 0' clock at the former railway depot.
The station closed on June 17th in 1963 and is now the home of Philp and Marina Dolan.
Marina says she hopes the local community will come to the event tomorrow to enjoy remembering the vital part the station once played in people's lives.
''I hope people will come and share there memories with each other, it'll give them a chance to reminisce, some people from around here went to school in Roscommon on the train and it was used for that as well as travelling further. It's in the goods store from 12pm-5pm, but its mainly for the community, this is a fantastic community, its very vibrant and I'm very proud to be part of it and so is Phillip.''
