Knockvicar native Megan Hines has moved to reassure people that Jenny the donkey who starred in the Banshees of Inisherin, most definitely was not flown to Hollywood for last night's Oscars.
People watching the glittering ceremony in LA last night saw a donkey led out on the stage at one point last night with the host referring to the animal as Jenny from the Banshees.
Some people took to social media to express their disgust the donkey would have been flown over to the US, but the donkey used last night was actually another animal from the LA area.
Speaking to Shannonside FM today, Megan Hines says Jenny was definitely not flown out to Hollywood and was living a very peaceful and quiet life in Ireland at a secret location.
'She didn't fly. She is tucked up safely somewhere in Ireland and she is living her best life with friends foraging freedom. That was just a stand in and Martin McDonagh has said last night that it was not the real Jenny. We definitely have her best interest in heart and that was why the production bough her at the end of filming of Banshees of Inisherin because they wanted to make sure she had the best quality of life possible.'
