The Labour Party have added a candidate in the Midlands Northwest Constituency for the European Elections. Fergal Landy was selected at the party's convention in Galway this week and is also contesting the local elections in Galway. According to the Galway man who is the current CEO of the Family Resource Centre National Forum, his priorities include working towards balanced regional and rural development, addressing long term planning issues and protecting Irish neutrality.
Speaking after the appointment of Fergal, Labour Leader Ivana Bacik warned that the far right is reaching for government across the EU. She branded the party's new candidate as someone who would bring a deep understanding of community development, social and human rights to the parliament.
