A call has been made for an outright ban on ads that promote gambling.
The Labour Party wants the Government to adopt a bill to end the ads on all media outlets.
The Government's new rules will impose a nightly ban between half five and nine o'clock.
But Labour Senator Mark Wall wants it to be 24/7 to end the non-stop bombardment of gambling ads:
'We're not against gambling and gambling will continue because everyone knows were they can go.
But we don't need these incessant gambling ads coming at us 24/7.
We want to get back to enjoying sport again. there's not a sporting occasion now that your influenced or attempted to be influenced by a gambling ad.
That's not acceptable.'
