A Longford based film will make its world premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh next week.
Lakelands, a debut feature by Granard natives Robert Higgins and Patrick McGivney tells the story of a Gaelic footballer who struggles to comes to terms with a career-ending injury.
The movie which was shot at various locations around the county and will be screened in Irish and UK cinemas this year.
Robert and Patrick have been nominated for the Bingham Ray New Talent Award at this year's fleadh and the film will be shown on Saturday July 9th at the Town Hall Theatre at 9pm.
The movie is funded by Creative Ireland along with Longford Arts Office, Backstage Theatre and Longford LEO.
