People across the Shannonside Northern Sound Region can still access vital cancer support services despite the ongoing level 5 Covid-19 restrictions.
That's according to midlands based Cancer Support Centre LARCC, who believe that support during the ongoing pandemic for people suffering through cancer is more important than ever.
The centre was forced to close their doors last year until July and have again ceased most in person services since January of this year due to the level 5 restrictions.
Staff at the support centre have moved their operations online over the past 12 months in order to help both people struggling with cancer and their families.
Based in Multyfarnham in Westmeath, LARCC has been providing psychological, physical and emotional supports to individuals and families including counselling, complementary therapies, nurse supports and telephone helplines.
Manager of the LARCC Cancer Support Centre, Bernie McHugh, says they expect more people than ever will need support post pandemic.
