The staging of a large funeral in Carrick-on-Shannon has been described as "a slap in the face" for all locals who are abiding by Covid rules.
Hundreds of people travelled to south Leitrim in the last 48 hours to attend the funeral of a young man that took place in the town this afternoon.
Gardai earlier confirmed that a number of Covid travel breaches had been detected, but no fines
were imposed.
It's understood that Gardai attempted to prevent mourners from returning to a marquee erected in a housing estate in the town, but some mourners managed to breach the garda cordon.
