County Letirim has recorded the highest rent increases across the Shannonside region in the last year.
The latest reports from DAFT.ie shows that the cost of renting a property has risen by 24.8% year on year.
The county however has the lowest prices, averaging at 817 euro a month.
Roscommon properties have the next highest increase at 21.6 per cent, where the costs average 952 euro.
In Longford, the average monthly rent costs 925 euro a rise of 18.3 per cent year on year.
The prices fall below the national average of 1,600 euro a month.
Daft.ie has also found that rents are increasing at the highest rate since 2016, and Ronan Lyons, author of the report, says rental prices are growing very sharply outside the capital.
"In Leitrim rents are up 25% year-on-year and we're still seeing in the cities smaller percentage inflation rates than the rural area. The exception to this is Limerick and Waterford cities."
