A last second goal saw St. Columba’s Mullinalaghta snatch a place in the Longford senior football semi-final after a 1-15 to 2-10 win over Colmcille.
A Ruairi Harkin penalty on the 60th minute had edged Colmcille into a two point lead, Jayson Matthews pulled it back to a one point game, before James McGivney’s last second goal sealed the win.
Mullinalaghta led by three points at half-time, a David McGivney free on 43 minutes send St. Columba’s Mullinalaghta 13 points to nine.
Ruairi Harkins goal on 44 minutes brought the game back to one point, making it 1-9 to 14 points. Harkins sent over another point before converting his penalty.
Mullinalaghta made up for last years defeat at this stage to snatch victory with James McGivney’s last second goal.
