A Roscommon shop and post office has re-opened to the public after months of closure.
Lavin's Post Office and Shop in Lissalway, Castlerea was first opened in 1956 by Sean Lavin and taken over by his wife, Eithne following his death.
The shop had been closed since last October after the death of Eithne, but has now been taken over by their daughter, Sarah Lavin.
Speaking to Let's Talk earlier, Sarah says the response from the community has been very positive and it was a no-brainer to reopen the shop.
"I've been in retail myself away from the family business for nearly 20 years and I was in a position to take on this role and I said 'why not, we'll give it a go and see what happens'. I've had such great feedback from the community and everyone has been so positive and happy that it's staying and I just think it'd be an awful shame if I was to let it go and not give it my best shot".
