Rochelle Mullaney, a leading footballer with Kilbride and Roscommon, passed away this afternoon following an illness, at the age of 30.
Rochelle had been diagnosed with stage three cervical cancer in 2021 and spoke out about the importance of screening for young women.
Kilbride GAA club paid tribute to her on social media this evening, describing her as a 'cherished member and former captain' of the club's ladies senior team.
Rochelle was an integral part of the Kilbride ladies team which won five county titles in a row from 2016 to 2020.All club activities have been suspended until further notice to honour Rochelle's memory. Councillor Sean Moylan has been paying tribute.
