Roscommon Roads Policing Unit recently clocked an unaccompanied learner driver, driving over twice the speed limit. Gardaí say the driver in Ballaghaderreen was clocked doing 115 km per hour in a 50 km per hour zone.
They also said that the driver had no L plates displayed and fined him €440. Gardaí seized the vehicle and say three penalty points have been added to the drivers permit.
