Leitrim woman and well known barrister Maura McNally has been named the Irish woman lawyer of the year.
The Dromod native, who earlier this year was selected as the chair of the Council of the bar of Ireland will receive the joint honor along with Sligo solicitor Michelle O'Boyle, outgoing President of the Law Society of Ireland
The Leitrim woman was called to the Bar in 1992, and practiced on Circuit until her appointment to the Inner Bar in 2017.
Senator Ivana Bacik will present the awards to Ms McNally and Ms. O'Boyle on 16 December during an online 'dine-in' gala ceremony.
