A Leitrim business owner is hopeful staycations will remain popular in the county this summer.
Pascal Gillard says since the pandemic many families are returning to Drumshanbo for their holidays.
He's noticed a 70% return rate and says bookings at the family's accommodation cottages for the 2023 season are positive, with the majority of dates already booked. Pascal who also runs Jinny's Tearooms and Bakery says Leitrim has a lot to offer and remains an attractive destination.
''Covid had it's ups and downs, we were obviously closed and lost our French side of our self catering business where the fisherman come over but families came to us during covid when the restrictions lifted and I'd say 70 per cent of people that came during that period are back again this summer. People love it here, Drumshanbo has something different to offer.''
