A Leitrim Councillor has called for a full time Irish Language Officer to be put in place in the county. Sinn Féin Cllr Cormac Flynn brought forward a motion to last week's Leitrim County Council meeting.
He says it will help fulfil the Council’s own obligations in relation to Irish language legislation. Cllr Flynn believes hiring a full time officer would also provide the council with opportunities to gain revenue:
