The Leitrim Community Car Scheme is appealing for donations to allow them to continue operating.
The scheme was set up in March last year to transport older people, people with disabilities, and families at risk to hospital appointments across the region.
They have completed over 340 trips to date and are now experiencing a high level of demand.
Manager of Leitrim Volunteer Centre, Josephine Stroker, says the Community Car Scheme will struggle to survive without the support of the public.
"We may have to finish it altogether because it's a constant struggle for us. As best as we can, we subsidise the programme but we've been running at a loss really. We're running at a loss of €4,000 at the moment. It's not sustainable at the moment without the support of the local community. Ideally, we would love to be funded by the HSE and we have been begging them, and requesting then to help us and support us. We have been on to politicians but we haven't got anything".
