A local councillor is calling for public realm works to be carried out in Co. Leitrim villages. Cllr Sean McGowan brought a motion forward to last week's Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District meeting calling on the council to put plans in place. The Fianna Fáil councillor wants to see works carried out in Dromod, Drumsna, Rooskey, Jamestown and Leitrim Village.
The motion received wide support across the chamber while the council executive said it was 'tentatively' developing a proposal for works. The executive said it would envisage the project falling under the Rural Regeneration and Development fund. Speaking to Shannonside News, Cllr McGowan explained why he wanted to include a number of villages in his motion.
